Accessing the network settings
To access the Network Settings, a network administrator needs to click on the "Settings" tab on their network navigation bar. You must be an Administrator and at your Network home to get to the Network Settings.

Settings view
This page controls the functionality, look and feel, and security of the entire network, so network administrators should be chosen carefully. The creator of the network is always the network administrator by default, however they can be removed from this role by any other Network Administrator.
Each of the network settings categories will be discussed below.
Basic
This section of the network settings should be a first stop for network administrators, as it contains basic set up information for the network.

PBworks Edition
This section of the setting panel lists the edition of PBworks you are using. In this case, the edition will be Project Edition.
Network Name
This setting is the name of the network, which is listed in the top left of the navigation bar. You may want to change this to a company name.
Time Zone
This setting will choose the time zone for the workspace. If network users are across multiple timezones, please choose the timezone that most users work in.
Keyboard Language
Setting the keyboard language allows for the support of characters used in other languages.
Logo
Setting a logo allows a network to be branded consistent with a company image. Logo image uploads are limited to 200 KB and must be in PNG, GIF or JPEG format.
Current logo
This will display the current logo uploaded to the network.
Upload new logo
To upload a new logo, simply click "Browse", choose the file, then "Upload"
Network Access
The Network Access setting has two components to it which can let network administrators control who has access to the network.
Trusted Email Domains
Trusted email domains allow for a much easier roll-out of your network across your entire team. Rather than one network administrator determining access, a trusted domain could be set which allows anyone with a valid email address from the domain to be added with no action needed on the network administrator's part.
In the example below, anyone with an email address from the "mycompany.com" domain will be able to join the network from the login page of the network. If you want to trust multiple domains, simply list them in order, one on each line. Please note that this will allow all users with an email address from the domain to add themselves as a network user on your network. Network administrators are responsible for their network's seat count, and licensing in Project Edition is paid for on a per-seat basis.
Remember to click "Save" to save your Trusted Domain list.

With trusted email domains enabled, a user simply needs to click on the "Join this network" link in the lower portion of the login page to register themselves on the network. This link will not show unless you have at least one domain listed in this setting.

When a user clicks the "Join this network" link, they'll be taken to a form where they will enter in their email address. If the email address submitted in this form has a domain that matches one of the trusted email domains, the user will be sent an email with a confirmation link they can click to set up their account on the network. This will add the user as a regular network user, meaning they will be able to log in to the network, join workspaces that are available, and create new workspaces. Network administrators are responsible for maintaining the network's seat count, and expansions will eventually need to be paid for through licensing.

IP Restrictions
IP restriction can be used to increase the security of a network. The IP whitelist allows only computers logging in from a listed IP address to log in to the network. The IP blacklist allows you to completely bar access. Please be careful with which IP addresses you set, as you can lock yourself out of your network if this is set incorrectly. If your company does not own a static IP address, then you probably should not use this setting.
More information about IP restriction can be found here.
License

When you purchase your Project Edition network, you'll receive a License Key and SKU number. Enter this information into this setting. This will move your Project Edition 30-day Trial to the full PBworks Project Edition.
Dashboard

This setting controls the four modules that appear on all users network home. You can use this setting to display the content of four different pages from any of the workspaces within your network. These might include useful links, company announcements, or other frequently-accessed information. Just follow these steps to set them up:
- Click the "Add module" button of any empty module.
- The module can display the text of any page inside your workspace. Select the workspace this page is currently in and click "Next."
- Select the exact page you want to display and click "Create module".
- Your new module will not be set until you click "Save".
This setting affects all users, so choose carefully what pages will be put into each module. If a user does not have access to page content from one of the modules, they will not be able to see the content, and it will appear blank.
When no modules are configured (as is the case initially), the entire row of custom modules will be hidden from your network users.
User Profiles
The User Profiles setting allows you to add additional fields to user profiles. Note that users can always add free-form information to the "About Me" section of their profiles, and all user profile information is searchable.
You can choose to create two kinds of profile fields:
- Select box: Add a select box if the information you want your users to add can be selected from a range of choices. For example, if you have seven offices across the country, you would create a "Select box" which would have those choices set, and each user would pick their location. Note that users can only choose one of the provided choices and only network admins can add new options.
- Text field: Add this kind of field if your users need to type in the exact value, and you don't have to set any choices.
To set a Select box:
- Click the "Add profile field" button.
- For Type, be sure "Select box" is selected.

- In the Field Title, set the name for the new field (Office), and type in each possible selection in the text box below. Be sure to put in only one choice per line.

You can also check the "Filterable" setting to make it easy to search the network user list based on this criterion. Checking the box in this example would add to the network user list a link to show only users in each office location.
- Click Save to set your choices.
To set a Text field:
- Click the "Add profile field" button.
- For Type, be sure "Text Field" is selected.

- In the Field Title, set the name for the new field.

- Click Save to set the field.
