Folders


Create a folder

  1. Click on "Pages & Files" in the upper right corner of the page to get to your workspace's Pages & Files manager.

     

  2. Click the "New" button and choose "Create a folder...":

  3. The new folder will appear immediately, with the default name being "New folder name."  Replace this text with the name you want the new folder to be.  When you are done typing the name, hit Enter or Return on your keyboard to set the name.

  4. When done, your new folder will appear in alphabetical order in your folder list.

     


Put a page in a folder

Method 1: Putting a page in a folder directly

  1. To put a page in a folder, go to the page in question and click "Put this page in a folder."  If the page is already in a folder, the text will say "Put this page in a different folder.":

     

  2. Then choose the folder you'd like this page to be in from the drop-down choices.  The top choice of "(no folder)" will move the page to Unfiled items.  If you pick the second choice, "Create a new folder...", you will be prompted to supply a name for the new folder.

 

Method 2: Using the Pages & Files Manager

  1. Click on the Pages & Files link in the right corner to access the Pages & Files manager:

     

  2. Select the page or pages you wish to move by checking their respective checkboxes:

  3. Click the Move button.

  4. Click on the folder you want to move the page to, and click "Move".

    You can also choose to remove the checked items from the current folder.

 

Tip:  To save some clicks, you can also click and drag pages into their folders.  Just check the boxes of the pages or files you wish to move and drag them into the correct folder.

 


Rename a folder

  1. To rename a folder, click the "Page & Files" link in the upper right corner of your workspace page:

     

  2. From the list on the left, click on the folder you want to rename.  You can always tell which folder you're in by looking at the folder name, which appears in the highlighted upper portion of the example picture below.

  3. Click the "Rename folder" button:

  4. When you click the "Rename folder" button, the text of the folder name becomes highlighted, and you are able to edit it:

  5.  Type in the new folder name, then click "enter" on your keyboard.

  6. The folder is now renamed:


Delete a folder

Warning: Deleting a folder permanently erases any pages or files contained in the folder, so please remove any pages or files that you wish to keep before you delete the folder.

 

  1. Select the unwanted folder.  In the example below, the "Delete Me" folder is selected:

      

  2. Then click the "Delete" button:

     

  3. WARNING! Deleting a folder deletes any pages or files contained in the folder, so please remove any pages or files that you wish to keep before you delete the folder.  Click OK to confirm the deletion.

     

  4. Look for the confirmation message to confirm folder deletion was successful:

 


 

Folder security

If you have Admin-level access to a premium workspace, you can set custom folder security.

 

To Set Custom Folder Security:

1) Access the Folder by clicking on the desired folder in the Right Panel's Folder list or by clicking on the "Pages & Files" link in the upper-right corner and then clicking on the folder name;

2) Click on the "Folder Security" button (see image below);

3) From the Folder Security window, you can set custom security by:

a) Clicking on the radio button next to "Custom security..." (highlighted in red below);

b) Selecting the user(s) whom you wish to have access to the folder's contents and clicking on the "Add user" button (highlighted in orange below). You can also add more users to the workspace by clicking on the link provided.  These users will have access to all the pages in the folder without custom page security (e.g., hidden pages);

c) Choose the level of access for each user from the drop-down menu (highlighted in yellow below);

d) Click on the "Save" button to save your custom security settings (highlighted in green below).

 

Public Folders

You can also choose to make a folder and its contents available to anyone on the internet, even if your workspace is private.  Click on the checkbox to make any folder into a public folder (see image below).


 

Files in folders

To place a file in a folder, click the "Pages & Files" link in the upper right corner of your workspace page.

 

Click "All Files" on the left side of the page to bring up a list of all files on your workspace:  

 

Drag the file over to the left side of the screen and drop it into the desired folder. 

You can also check the checkbox next to a file name and then click "Move" to place it into a new folder.
