PBworks does not offer forum/discussion board support, but there are several alternate solutions available online.
You can then embed the discussion forum into any page of your workspace, using the HTML/Javascript plugin.
The example below uses Lefora.com, but most other discussion forum services will work. Please consult with their documentation and support to find out the best way to embed your discussion forum into a webpage.
- Go to this website to start a new discussion board:
http://www.lefora.com
- Once you've made a discussion forum on Lefora.com, enter edit mode of the page you would like to embed the discussion forum into.
- Click the "Insert Plugin" button
- Choose the "HTML/JavaScript" plugin in the "HTML & Gadgets" category.
- In the HTML plugin, type in this code:
<iframe src="http://YOURDISCUSSIONFORUM.lefora.com" width="800" height="600" frameborder=0></iframe>
Of course, change YOURDISCUSSIONFORUM with the name of your discussion forum that you've created on Lefora.
- Click "Preview," then "OK," and now "Save" your workspace page.
Internet Explorer
Third-party cookies must be enabled in Internet Explorer if any of the sites you embed in an IFRAME require a login.
To enable third-party cookies on IE, you'll need to follow these steps:
- In Internet Explorer, click on Tools, and then Internet Options.
- Click the "Privacy" tab.
- Click the Advanced button.
- Check the box to override automatic cookie handling.
- Allow both first-party and third-party session cookies. You don't need to check the "Always allow session cookies" checkbox.
- Click Ok, and then, OK again to set the setting.
- Completely close Internet Explorer, and restart the program. You need to do this whenever you change an IE setting.
If IE is set up in this way, you'll be able to log in to your discussion board.
